I am not a perfect girl
I throw my head back and laugh loudly
I dress in the way that I’m feeling and most of the time its “comfy”
I am not a make up guru
Not a weave queen
My nails are only long with the assistance of health
Some might call me “plain”
I am not a perfect girl
But I am a real one
I can show you real things
Teach you how to appreciate grass between your toes
And silently sitting while the rain hits our windows
I can be art for you
The glimmer in my eyes can inspire the revolution in yours
I will hold you and you will know you are King…
but, I am not a perfect girl
Pretty sure that doesn’t exist in me.
All I can be is here for you when you reach for me
And I hope, for your sake, that will be enough
