The Fault in Our Stars

You don’t get to choose if you get hurt in this world…but you do have some say in who hurts you. I like my choices.

Everyone wants this perfect love affair. We all long for this thing that we barely have a clue about, or how to maintain for that matter. We want what we see in the movies, a perfect love affair with little to no turbulence. We want perfection. Nothing becomes perfect without hard work and even then you might be a few hairs away from your perfect fairytale. Truth is, and they won’t tell you this in school, love hurts. As unselfish, giving, understanding, kind, gentle and fluffy as it is…when humans get hold to it, it has the ability to tear you apart.

The great thing about love is that when you get it right, I mean REALLY get it right, it feels so good. All that risk goes out of the door when you look down at your hand and its being held by someone you never thought you’d be so dependent upon, and you’re fine with that, it all becomes worth it. You’re vulnerable and its okay. To walk around jaded dealing in strictly hurt feelings is prison. I had to make vows to myself to love fully and wholly before I was able to make vows to anyone else.
